Mr. Nichelson began practicing law in 1996 and has been in private practice ever since. In addition to his private practice, Mr. Nichelson served as a 711 intern for the Macoupin County States Attorney’s Office, and he was employed as a contractual attorney for the States Attorney Appellate Prosecutor’s Office in Springfield, Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Macoupin County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois as well as the United States District Courts of Central and Southern Illinois. He has lectured on various estate planning, probate and elder law topics, and he has had his work published by the National Business Institute and Lorman Education Services. Mr. Nichelson is also a licensed family law mediator. Because he was born and raised in a small town, Mr. Nichelson and his staff, Wendy Colvin and Jordan Horst, understand and appreciate the value of customer service. All of Mr. Nichelson’s clients are important to him, and he strives to develop a personal and trusting relationship with each of them. Unlike some large law firms, Mr. Nichelson personally handles each of his client’s files from beginning to end. When clients call his office, they will speak personally with Mr. Nichelson, and when clients schedule appointments, they will meet personally with Mr. Nichelson. Bill lives in Girard, Illinois, with his wife, Jennie, and they have two children, Emily and Ashley.

Bill Nichelson was born and raised in Girard, Illinois. He is a 1989 graduate of Girard High School and a 1993 graduate of Millikin University. In 1996, he received a Juris Doctorate degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law where he graduated with the honor cum laude.
Wendy, and her husband Mark, moved from Colorado to Virden in January, 2005. After 20 years in the banking industry, it was time for a change of scenery. She started working at the law office in April of 2005 and has enjoyed getting to the know the local clients and assisting them with their legal needs. She continually tries to increase her knowledge of all aspects of the practice and always strives to give accurate and helpful assistance.
